In the 2019-2020 season, violinist Stefan Jackiw will join as guest soloist with major orchestras across the U.S., including his highly anticipated debut with the San Diego Symphony in February 2020, performing the Beethoven Violin Concerto. On October 26-27, Stefan makes his return to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, performing the Mozart Violin Concerto No. 5, and heads back to the Indianapolis Symphony in March for performances of the Korngold Violin Concerto in D Major with conductor David Danzmayr.
Internationally, Stefan will make his debut with the Konzerthausorchestra Berlin on May 29, performing the Korngold Concerto for Violin and Orchestra with conductor Juraj Valčuha. On January 29, Stefan joins conductor Kirill Karabits and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra to perform the Stravinsky Violin Concerto. He kicks off his season on September 12 with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, before joining the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra for performances of the Stravinsky Violin Concerto in D Major with conductor Hans Graf. In January, Stefan returns to the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and conductor Leonard Slatkin, performing the Beethoven Violin Concerto.
Stefan reunites with frequent collaborator, pianist Jeremy Denk, for performances of the complete Ives Violin Sonatas (November 7 at Princeton University Concerts; and on January 17 at Duke Performances, with New York Polyphony). Stefan will also perform works by J.S. Bach, Kalabis, C.P.E. Bach, and Piston with harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani (December 6 at 92 Street Y; January 23 at San Francisco Performances).
In Spring 2020, Stefan joins tours the U.S., performing chamber music programs with pianist and composer Conrad Tao and cellist Jay Campbell, as the Junction Trio. The chamber group will make its New York debut with the Peoples’ Symphony in March.
